In the first episode of the Science2Health podcast I have an interview with Dr. Dana King about his research on the change in adherence rates to healthy lifestyle habits among American adults and the effect these changes have had on the prevalence of chronic diseases.  Dr. King is a medical researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina.

There has been a substantial decline in adherence to healthy lifestyle patterns among American adults over the past twenty years and this has resulted in increasing rates of obesity and obesity-related chronic diseases. The use of prescription medication to treat chronic diseases has increased 121% since 1988.
